UPDATE

it is cold and gloomy in the Bay Area. totally effects my mood and motivation. trying to rally.

other news? I have a new job. starting May 29th.
I am very relieved and happy and excited.
there is a lot to wrap up here and the change will be an adjustment.
taking things one day at a time.
if it was sunny this would be a much cheerier post.

Comments:
I have a sunny-cloudy pic at my place, K.

Good luck with the new job.

Fish quit, and the world has changed.
~

For the better.

Or was it for the batter?

I dunno, fish.

Obama's acting more like G.W. Bush than the shrub ever did, you've quit yer blog, and it all seems so disturbing.
~

I hope the job isn't proofreading.

BRANDO!!!!!!!!!!

I think fish would have a comeback for that if he weren't so fried.

Or if his schedule weren't so packed in oil.

I know these jokes are canned. I have a tin ear for humor. AND a chip on my shoulder.

I think that about wraps it up. You can read about it in my publication. Our motto: all the news that fits to wrap fish.

I am so hungry right now.

Congratulations, Kathleen, and good luck.

Perhaps I should have titled the last post: Fin.

YOU BLEW IT!!!!!!!

thanks Brando. it's weird but good. but also challenging and scary.
but I don't really want to BLARGH about it on the internets.

I wish we could all hang out and have beer and talk.

Or at Thai House Express, where GC said "THAT is where I first met K!"

Is that actually right? That is where K got Chocolate Skittled! No wait- maybe that was E. Castle, which would fit the fish and chips theme.

Hang in there, K-roni.

Fish needs to unretire so he can redo his retirement.

THE w/ GC and then she left and we went to E Castle. fulsome was there too. I don't even remember when we had Choco skittles. we did have donuts.

also for full nerd points it needed to be "Skittle'd"

A Job? I've heard about those!

This author/reader dialogue might entertain you. And there's suspense! What will happen next?

THE w/ GC and then she left and we went to E Castle. fulsome was there too. I don't even remember when we had Choco skittles. we did have donuts.

Wow. that sounds familiar. Is this the standard treatment for everyone in San Francisco?

sweet fulsome.

I need to e-mail him to see if he replies- otherwise I am almost convinced he is a figment of the IMAGINATION.

i want to have fun with my pals and laughter and good times

YES TO ALL

FPerhaps I should have titled the last post: Fin.

Tell us that you didn't mean it, it was just a fluke accident.

Yay, Kathleen!!! I can't wait to hear about it when you are able to blargh on the internets.

When I saw UPDATE... I thought it was going to be about marathon training, or Pinko's header contest...

When I saw UPDATE... I thought it was going to be about marathon training, or Pinko's header contest...

I thought it was going to be goldfish.

Yeah, I've had a Kathleen/goldfish niggling feeling for a while.

I wish we could all hang out and have beer and talk.

Me too! Can I come?! I will buy the donuts.

...Or maybe I will make them and make you all eat them!

Green ones!

Congratulations, Kathleen! Always fun, scary, interesting, blarg-inducing to make big changes. But worth it! Good luck!!

Thanks BG & J - it's good news, but it is a definitely a situation where there are pros and cons, and I had to make a choice hoping it is the right one....

BG you would have to be there at the Beer BLARGH.

ROFL @ homemade green donuts.

When I saw UPDATE... I thought it was going to be about marathon training, or Pinko's header contest...

I thought it was going to be an announcement that she wasn't going to blog anymore.

I thought it was going to be an announcement that she wasn't going to blog anymore.

We should all do that.

I think blogs should have an app that makes them look like the lights are off, so you know it's closed... because even if there's a closed sign, the lights are still ON! And it's confusing... and kind of sad. They should not be warm and inviting if no one is there.

I say we roadtrip to Kathleen's... you know, surprise her! "HI!!! We're HERE!! For beer!! BG brought the green donuts!" Then we'd see how into it she was! Heh!

They should not be warm and inviting if no one is there.

I disagree. I was just thinking today that I am gonna enjoy dropping random comments into Final Fish Post in the coming weeks and months, just to see who is still checking in. Like a fishy-smelling Goobie thread. And yank his email notification chain; hopefully during meetings.

Agree on Kathleen. I'll be ready tomorrow afternoon for you to pick me up. I just hope San Francisco has decent beer.

Just looked back, and it seems I am coming up on one year with the new blog.

I am weary of it.

Agree on Kathleen. I'll be ready tomorrow afternoon for you to pick me up. I just hope San Francisco has decent beer.

Okie dokie.

it seems I am coming up on one year with the new blog.

Which one?? Didn't you have Irish twin/triplet blogs for a while?

Talk of a blogging road trip brought back memories of this.

that was a great road trip, even if we had to bring fish....

I thought he added a certain je ne sais quoi. Or...je ne sais koi.

All I do is carp.

What does that actually mean? Have you ever heard a carp make a sound?

they make kind of a squishy sound when you drive over one.

I think blogs should have an app that makes them look like the lights are off

I've been thinking that, too! Something similar... I would love an app where when you click on the blog the heavy velvet curtains on the left and right start swaying and then come to the center to close! And the spotlight hits the curtain and reads: INTERMISSION

LOL @ "HI!!! We're HERE!! For beer!! BG brought the green donuts!"

And then I imagine Kathleen horrified, dragging C into the back bedroom to discuss what to do in low voices, using crazy, dramatic hand gestures. Then I imagine B running in their room to tell them, "Those people are saying shit in there!!!"

LOL!!

Perfect!

C: "I remember these donuts being bigger and more green in my childhood, also I remember liking them"

He would love mine cuz they would have cinnamon hots on them.

I disagree. I was just thinking today that I am gonna enjoy dropping random comments into Final Fish Post in the coming weeks and months, just to see who is still checking in. Like a fishy-smelling Goobie thread.

Nobody goes by Pinko's Place anymore.

Not even Pinko.
~

I DO

I do, too, Kathleen. But they hardly ever update SOTD, so what they heck, you know?

Right now, at 110F in the shade, Cold and Gray sounds inviting.

PLS TO SHARE!

I actually cannot comment at Pinkos. When I click on one of the fields, I can type in it, but field goes blank when I go to the next one. When I submitted a comment, it said I didn't answer the math question.

brando- your words are still there. it goes blank on everyone, but why don't you answer the math question?

Is it too hard? Or is it invisible?

Yeah Brando, just answer the question.

Ha, I apparently can't add without my abacus.

Kathleen!!! We're in Nebraska! We're almost THERE!!! Chill the cranberry vodka!

I have a jar of peanut butter opened....

I straightened up the kitchen, so I obtained a kitchen-cleaning beer.

Now if Jennifer doesn't show up to give me a ride to Kathleen's, I will go back to playing Diablo.

I claim filthbot on ZRM!!!!!!

I love how thunder's little icon is next to the comment box so I feel like I am commenting as thunderpants.

~

PS~
I see what you did Brando.

PPS
What if we actually had lives where we could all show up randomly at Kathleen's and have a party? I'm sorry but the only person I really could imagine that working with would be pop renaissance. Because it actually happened.

Somehow I imagine our road trip would take a dark turn because K would just have been ready for like 20 hours straight of Sherlock or something, with a delicious sandwich and a cocktail, and then DING DONG, and then 1) K would have to get dressed 2) "Are you gonna eat that sandwich?"-PP 3) "YOU MADE ME A DRINK" -zrm 4) "Ugh, turn of the Lakers"-everyone but C 5) B Dance Party Dress Up?????? YAY!!!!!!!!! 6) Mommy that nice lady made me eat a gross green donut 7) "I don't really get Game of Thrones"-someone 8) "GET. OUT."-K
9) "Pinko's?"- everyone 10) "YAY!"

that is so true I feel like that just really happened

LOL into infinity.

Party at Kathleen's!
~

Seriously: pop ren "HI EVERYONE! I'VE GOT STUFFED MUSHROOMS AND MINI QUICHES FROM TRADER JOES. Also [REDACTED]. ANYONE WANT TO BLAZE UP? ILL PUT ON SOME MADCHESTER 12 INCHES AND BREAK OUT ORIGINAL PONG!!!!!!"

Everyone: "YAY!!!!!!"

Chuckles: "I need to excuse myself"

Toilet: "OH NOES!"

Is that a celebrity dream cameo, Pinko, or actual recalled history?

P.S. Running Noose, courtesy of the Riddled crew.
~

someone made a tumblr of an actual 3b comment thread : http://solipsism.eu/post/23366642674

Aif- they really got anim-all of them. I want to go HIDE.

Thunder- ACTUAL HAPPENING, we battle rapped Chuckles' prowess: http://blog.3bulls.net/archives/1878

I have a screencap from that comment thread, P. Punko (IF that is your real name!).
~

Fish's flushing post is ahead of this one, Kathleen. Doesn't seem right, somehow.

I know Z but this is such a great comment thread.... I hate to post on top of it.

I was unclear, I meant his buh-bye post more comments than this one, and for a DedBlog, that seems wrong.

We CAN fix it, though.

I will be either happy or sad when fish's dedpost hits Zardoz. One of those.

There. now I think we're good.

Sappy?

If it's a bahn mi Pinko, it's to the death between you and me.

Kathleen, would you like to describe the sandwich in question to fishwagon, so we might commence fighting?

Allow me to quote the RUDEST email I have EVER received from K(!)

"Ike's opened a place in Oakland uptown. I just ate the "Al Davis" pastrami, bacon, sriracha, horseradish"

If it's an Al Davis, I think you misspelled horse shit.

It was coach Al Davis, not GM and owner Al Davis.

fish, you think all awesome sandwiches should be called "The Tuck Rule"

Fish wants all sandwiches to be the "Tom Brady Wiener"

Is it still gloomy and cold there, Kathleen? We've in the bipolar weather pattern... 90 one day, low 50's the next, and then back again! Woo-hoo!

Also:

I have a new job. starting May 29th.

Tick tock!!! Hopefully we'll all still be visiting when you start so we can pack you a lunch and send you off on your first day.

And... let me just pass on some words of wisdom that I heard at a compliance meeting last night...

"If it's wet and it's not yours... don't touch it!"

Did this new job offer cranberry vodka perks as well? Also, do you get a key to the executive wastebasket?

Percs?? Perks?? I can't remember which it is.

ZRM- perhaps we should all just put up Goobie post and let the comments run into infinity.

There's got to be a word for opening a beer and finding out you already opened one... AND... finding a hot cup of coffee on the desk.

Perhaps that word is... distracted.

I have had no furnace or A/C for over a week... and surprisingly, I have had both the need for the furnace and the A/C.

Refer back to bipolar weather comment.

K- I think I asked you elsewhere, but is B into fairies right now?

If she is, you have to find the book about fairy houses in Maine... or something like that. It's a great book, and the lamblets (especially EL) spent many, many years grooving on the natural aspect of the fairies... not the totally contrived aspect.

She had some fairy handbook that was based on "real fairy info"... we did a lot of fairy stuff back then... Sweet times.

What number are we on??

Guh! 87??

Oh well... I have beer AND coffee. Both are wet, but both are mine, so I'm touching them!

The bunnies that are growing up outside my window are getting big enough that they feel confident not scurrying like a spaz from plant to plant. This is usually when the hawks hit. :(

Circle of life. :(

And speaking of the circle of life, or the passage of time... the majority of the people at the compliance meeting last night were college students...

Around 9:00... you could feel their energy rising. I was feeling ready to go home and go to bed.

The woman next to me, probably a good 10 years older than I am, said, "These chairs make my butt hurt. I have more butt than I ever have and yet it can stand hard surfaces..."

Last night was a words of wisdom buffet.

And a refresher course in doffing gloves.

I did like the person who suggested doffing gloves was what you did to start a duel!

He will no doubt touch wet things that aren't his.

Almost there!

Ahhhhh. My work is done.

K- I think I asked you elsewhere, but is B into fairies right now?

Duh....SAN FRANCISCO.

Excellent book about fairies.

LOL to infinity to quote BG

not really, it's still dinosaurs all the way, though I am sure a good book about fairy houses will be appreciated! we did have an extended discussion about "who Tinkerbell is" "the fairy that saved Peter Pan"
:)

my status: currently downloading Diablo III

sober

200 looks a long way off

Jennifer said...

I had this same idea.

we need to get MenD to create us a Drawn Curtain/Lights Flickering graphic to go with it.

it is very sunny and beautiful so I am much cheerier!

my status: currently downloading Diablo III

35 minutes with a decent connection.

Let's set up a game!

I've currently taken a monk to Act 3, but I could start a new character....

ZRM- perhaps we should all just put up Goobie post and let the comments run into infinity

Not a bad idea, but I have way too much self-pity to leave a front page post for long.

Between fish's, menD's, and 3Bulls, through, there should be plenty of candidates....

I am going to blame Belial for that tagfail.

WHAT THE

now I am worried that fish won't see Tom Brady's Wiener Sandwich's comment.

If it's wet and it's not yours... don't touch it!"

You're no fun anymore.

we need to get MenD to create us a Drawn Curtain/Lights Flickering graphic to go with it.

MenD's BLOG is kind of a drawn curtain/flickering lights graphic.

I had to delete Portal 2 to download

I'll let you know when we get it set up Z

It's dry and it's not mine!!!!!!

did you DL through Steam?

now I am worried that fish won't see Tom Brady's Wiener Sandwich's comment.

Does this fall under the wet and not yours, don't touch it rule? Cuz that is pretty harsh.

LOL @ fish

no battle.net

Geez, I think one of my machines meets Diablo's requirements.

the game itself doesn't seem that daunting, computer-wise, but the load when connecting to battle.net gets a little steep, I think, especially when you have like 800 imps chasing you...

sober

All problems have solutions.

91%

2 hours, Kathleen??!?!?

What are you, using stone knives and bearskins for an internet connection?

How am I supposed to play this game, when:

1) YouTube videos appear to freeze my computer.

2) I don't play videogames.

sometimes, I suspect that the computer industry is paying off the video game designers so that we all have to keep upgrading our computers.

Play at work!

SUDDENLY I NEED CINNAMON ROLLS.

....IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPHECY.

BIG TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

it's 68 letters long in German

Ya gotta love that about German! Taking compound words to THE EXTREME!!! Why use one short word to describe when you can just merge all of the words together into a really long word!

it is very sunny and beautiful so I am much cheerier!

YAY!!!

I agree that 91% would be a quick solution to sober.

Congrats on the new job!!
I know, I am late to the party, but still.

I know, I am late to the party,

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPHECY.

3 hours last night once it finally set up

pretty fun overall. definitely looking forward to playing further.

C had no memory of Adria. what a cad.

and no the 2 hours wasn't total DL time.

it also included downloading the installer, which then informed me that I didn't have enought drive space for the game.

and I had to uninstall Portal 2

please read and sign off on 3 EULAs

and there was an initial prob with my video driver so we had to look into that as well, though that ended up being fine once the whole thing got installed.

then I had to pick and name my character. THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

I got a magic breastplate that dropped.

but of course it looks like a magic bikini top

good thing my barbarian abs of steel are not vulnerable to injury GIVEN THAT THEY ARE COMPLETELY EXPOSED

great - just as i get frustrated as possible with Diablo II (i thought i'd get it going again after i gave up ~7 years ago) i know there's even more waiting once i finish and get into III(if ever)

but of course it looks like a magic bikini top

But do you have 3 boobs???

it's New Tristram, J, not Mars!!

last night was sober Diablo II

tonight will be drunken Diablo III

am sitting in wait for my going away party to start

it is "soccer" themed

that is all I know

I haven't been able to get back into Diablo 2 because OS X Lion no longer supports PowerPC apps. I have a couple of older G3s I am going to set up, but I need a new monitor.

I am playing as a monk, because he resembles a certain local blogger; he's big, he's bad....that's all I'm going to say.

He also has a wicked 'lashing tail kick' which I know as a spin reverse heel kick.

FWIW, my monk character - who I named Zerm- also played much of the game half-naked.

Now that he's leveled up, he's covered in metal though.

I actually enjoy the dorkathon that is Diablo commenting. Like I don't play but I am a fan of players! Poor pathetic me, but it is kind of like being a fan of someone's fantasy sports team. I am good at that! I care about YOU

GO OAKLAND DIABLOWS!!!!

time for naptime Diablo III!!!!

ummm....is it weird for me to be playing as a female Demon Hunter named Alice?

K, I will level Alice up to 8 or so to keep up!

tonight will be drunken Diablo III

This comment makes me think of Practical Magic and the tequila that Jimmy had.

ummm....is it weird for me to be playing as a female Demon Hunter named Alice?

Probably... but who am I to judge??

EXCELLENT POINT, YOU WITH YOUR ALTER EGO.

actually, there's a pretty good mix of female NPCs in Diablo, many of them integral to the story....although as Kathleen pointed out, with questionable taste in battle fashion.

And you get to pick the gender of your characters. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Now that I think of it, I could have called her Bunny. Bunny The Demon Hunter. Joss Whedon would approve, right before he sicced the Mutant Enemy Legal Staff on me.

LOL nice. I think Alice works very well.

Especially on the zombies.

....I am kind of conflicted on that, actually.

I have a couple of older G3s I am going to set up, but I need a new monitor.

G5 towers should be pretty cheap. They're loud but they last.

probably, but I HAVE the G3 towers. If I mash em together, it's a G6, right?

I'm wondering when Xgrid will come into its own. A stack of Mac Minis would be a nice cheap supercomputer.

My Diablo II experience on the G3s was not optimal.

Am I the only one that is thinking that Substance has a G5 tower he is looking to fob off on a zombie?

Anyways, I had the G3s running D2 pretty well. But I had these old 21" CRT monitors that we used for intense CAD work, and fuck me if I want to move those monsters around.

I do have two G3s, so maybe I should mess around with Xgrid a bit....If I can rope in a big enough hard drive, I could use 'em as a whole house music server.

Also, other Diablo geeking for Pinko: make sure your wireless mouse won't poop out on battries in the middle of a battle.

I am also worried about what happens to Kathleen's blog when we roll 200 comments.

It's like a ticking time bomb scenario!

I just finished Zelda. I am not allowed another obsession for at least a year.

who is this 'fish'? Do we know him/her/it?

There's a whole lotta noise in here.

So Kathleen's new job is role-playing on the internet?

She's gonna need a bigger wastebasket!
~

it appears my internet capabilities are going to be EXTREMELY LIMITED in the near future so I am going to need a lot of personalities to keep this thread company!

so all of you had a long weekend and there's no comment activity? i hope there was a lot of drinking involved, or i shan't be back

so all of you had a long weekend and there's no comment activity? i hope there was a lot of drinking involved, or i shan't be back

We're dangerously close to 200... no one wants the thread to be lost in Blogger limbo.

RENEW! RENEW!
~

I drank a lot on Saturday night, aif, but you never stop by my blog so how would you know?

I'll go to 200! I'm evil.

Kathleen will never know, what with her 'job' and all.

Muah-ha-ha-hah!

fish is AWOL, Jennifer is nursing a bat-induced hangover, Von is moving to Denver....

IT'S ALL ZOMBIE!!

K, should take my monk to level 30 today.

I'm still around.

P.S. I once did one of them MUD thinghies. You had multiple characters. One of mine was a level 150/150 mage warrior.
~

It's really nice out..sunny, breeze, low humidity...
~

76 degrees, 36 percent humidity.
~

Maybe I should go outside?
~

Or would that be too rash.
~

No one wants a rash!
